Dr Svetlana Vlady is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at Brooklyn College, City University of New York, USA. She obtained her Doctorate of Philosophy in Finance (AACSB accredited program) from Griffith University, Australia, and she also holds a Bachelor of Economics degree (USSR), Bachelor of International Finance degree with Honours, and Bachelor of Business degree with a Major in Accounting (AACSB accredited business programs), also from Griffith University.
Svetlana has experience of teaching economics, accounting and finance, having previously taught undergraduate and graduate students at Griffith University and Master's students at the Academy of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
Her research interests include finance, accounting, environmental sustainability and applied statistics, with particular interest in the implications for the oil and gas industry. Recently, she has enjoyed conducting research in the areas of creative teaching and mentoring students.
