Kevin Harding is a South African chemical engineer and professor at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, with a PhD from the University of Cape Town. He is the Director of the Green Engineering and Industrial Ecology research group looking at sustainable engineering, especially life cycle assessment and material flow analysis. Before academia, he worked as a consultant at ERM South Africa, doing risk assessments, waste reduction, and process safety work across industries like oil and gas and food production. He has taught and collaborated internationally, including time as a visiting scholar in Nigeria, the United States, Chile and Switzerland. He has published over 75 research papers, won major awards like the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Award, and stays active in global research and sustainability projects.
