Cristina Castillo Rodríguez

Cristina Castillo Rodríguez is Senior Lecturer with Tenure at the Department of Didactics of Languages, Arts and Sports Didactics (Faculty of Education), at the University of Málaga. She has participated in projects devoted to implementing educative innovations in the higher-education classroom (2004-2021). She has been the lead coordinator of innovative projects related to gamification as an active methodology in education (2019-2024). She has coordinated research projects related to the implementation of technology into the bilingual classroom, as well as the analysis of learner corpora of texts written in English by non-native speakers (2014-2024). Lead researcher of the research group English, Technologies & Learning (ENTELEARN) (2014-2019). She has been awarded with the Teacher Award in the Faculty of Education (2022), at the University of Málaga, because of her work in the educative innovation, implementation of emergent technologies in the classroom and her initiatives of internationalization in teaching and teaching material publications. Expert evaluator of European projects (SEPIE, Spain) and research projects in national and international competitive calls. She has also participated in international verification and accreditation of degree programs in external and international agencies for quality. Member of several international and national editorial and scientific committees. She has published in relevant and high-impact journals and books about research works covering her main research lines: corpus linguistics and its impact on foreign-language linguistic training, bilingual education, teacher development, emergent technologies, and active methodologies.
