Maria Charokopaki

Maria Charokopaki holds a PhD from the University of the Peloponnese and a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Hellenic Mediterranean University. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and an MBA in Business Administration. Her doctoral research critically examined the political governance of sport in Greece, with a focus on institutional structures, policy reform, and gender equity. Her academic and professional interests span sport governance, organizational behavior, leadership in sport institutions, clinical nutrition, sport nutrition, and public health, with particular emphasis on gut health and evidence-based dietary strategies for health and athletic performance. She has contributed to international academic conferences, completed peer reviews for scholarly journals, and is committed to advancing interdisciplinary research and promoting inclusive, evidence-based approaches across sport, health, nutrition, and society.
