Dr Jesús Alonso Amezcua López is a professor and researcher at Centro Universitario UTEG, specialising in applied biotechnology and the nutrition of critically ill newborns. He currently leads projects focused on the development of powdered human milk and the design of adjuvant therapies aimed at the treatment and prevention of a range of pathologies.
He holds a PhD in Biotechnological Processes and conducts research in infectious diseases and biotherapeutic drugs, integrating innovative approaches to strengthen neonatal and paediatric health. His work is carried out in collaboration with specialised research groups, such as the Human Milk Research Laboratory at the University of Guadalajara, contributing to scientific and technological advances in this emerging field.
His career has been recognised internationally with distinctions including the Best Researcher Award in the “Biotechnology” category (2025) and the Latin American Award for Innovative Ideas (2023). In addition to his academic work, he maintains a strong social commitment, focused on improving quality of life and access to adequate nutrition for future generations.
