Dr. Manuel Lillo-Crespo is a Professor and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Nursing, at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Alicante (Spain). Vice-director at Vistahermosa HLA Hospital in Alicante. Active member of the National HLA Hospital Group belonging to its National Quality Commission, National Pharmacy Commission and Vice-President of the National Nursing Commission. Phd in Health/Medical Anthropology (specialised in healthcare organizations' analysis from an anthropological perspective). Outstanding member of the Nursing Department at the University of Alicante with broad experience in Team Leadership and Management of International Research and Innovation Projects. Director of the research team "Medicine, Nursing and Clinical Nutrition" within the Doctoral Programme of Health Sciences at his University. His areas of expertise are: Clinical & Healthcare Management & Administration, Healthcare Improvement, Nursing & Medical Professional Development, Healthcare/clinical Anthropology, Qualitative Research Methodology & Mixed-Methods, Ageing & Chronicity, and Educational Innovation & Research. Member of Editorial Boards and also Peer-reviewer of Impact Factor Journals such as: the Journal of Advanced Nursing (JAN), the International Journal of Health, Wellness and Society and the Journal of Transcultural Nursing (JTCN), and other Latin American and Spanish professional journals (such as Horizonte Sanitario, IMPACT Journal, RECIEN, Revista Colombiana de Enfermería, Investigación y Educación en Enfermería, Revista Anna Nery de Enfermagem, Cultura de los Cuidados). He has more than 80 publications in different JCR impact factor journals and book chapters. He has lectured in Scientific Events, taught and mentored future health professionals all over the world. Dr. Lillo-Crespo was the International Mobility Coordinator at his Faculty and has been an active researcher and team lead in more than 14 European Commission funded Projects until now. He is involved as researcher in other national research projects funded by Spanish Public National organizations as well as other Latin American ones. Dr. Lillo-Crespo is also a current Visiting-Professor at the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas and the University of Coahuila, both in Mexico where he has developed several research projects, mentored PhD dissertations and taught in specialized courses. He is an external professor at the University of Malaga (Faculty of Health Sciences) and University Autonomous of Barcelona (Faculty of Medicine) in Master Degrees and PhD programmes related to his expertise. He has also taught in other Master Degrees and Specialization Modules/Courses at the University of Alicante, such as: Clinical and Community Nutrition, Healthcare Research, Emergencies, Active and Healthy Ageing and Palliative Cares. He has mentored PhD candidates worldwide and nationwide. Until now he has been the Director of 12 PhD Dissertations and has been evaluator and member of the experts panel for other 10 PhD Dissertations. In the Clinical fieldwork his background as a clinician comes from the Emergency Room (E.R.), the Intensive Care Unit (I.C.U.) as well as other management positions. About his Management Background, he has boosted healthcare professional decision-making towards efficiency-based and evidence-based solutions to develop Transversal Innovative Care Models accomplishing social impact through translational research and quality improvement. Active member of the European Innovative Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP-AHA). He is Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) - Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery; Founder-member of the Pan-European Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the RCSI and active member of the CPD economic evaluation group, Fellow of the Romanian Society of Neumology, Founder-Academic of the Nursing Academy at the Comunidad Valenciana, Spanish National Board Leader of the European NUPHAC network (promoting the roles of Nurses in Pharmaceutical Care and Nurse Prescribing) and recently has been appointed as Outstanding Alumni of the University of Alicante
