Reflection:

The Fifteenth International Conference on Design Principles & Practices, held at University of Monterrey from 3–5 March 2021 under the special focus “Towards a (Design) New Deal,” took place amid the COVID-19 pandemic, a period marked by uncertainty around how to gather, teach, and practice design. Questions about hybrid conferences and teaching design at a distance became central, prompting new ways of creating, collaborating, and learning. In retrospect, the conference captured a critical moment of transition, where established models were challenged and reformulated. Through the lens of Design Across Time, it reveals how design evolves by responding to disruption and reshaping methodologies for resilient futures.
