Pre-Conference Walking Tour

The Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Conference is pleased to announce the Pre-Conference Walking Tour on Tuesday 14th July 2026.

Join other delegates for a walking tour of Galway. You will experience how walkable Galway is, with some highlights of the downtown and the great views.

Itinerary:

•Eyre Square is the focal point of Galway city.

•City walls

• Lynch's Castle - The best preserved medieval tower house in Ireland.

•Kirwans Lane - a well-preserved medieval laneway.

• Collegiate Church of St. Nicholas

•The West End.

•The Claddagh. Ireland's oldest fishing village.

•The famous Spanish arch. Located where Galway's River Corrib meets the sea. (The Tour ends here)

Conference Dinner

The Twenty-first International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences is pleased to announce the Conference Dinner at Kirby's Restaurant on Thursday 16th July 2026.

Conference Closing Reception

The International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences is pleased to announce the Conference Closing Reception on Friday 17th July 2026.

The Twenty-First International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences and the University of Galway will be hosting a Closing Reception at the conference venue. The reception will be held directly following the Closing Session of the last day. Join other conference delegates and plenary speakers for drinks, light hors d'oeuvres, and a chance to converse.

Online Special Events

Online Welcome and Training Session

Join other delegates for a pre-conference welcome reception and training session.

We are excited to announce the online conference will be delivered on the CGScholar platform – developed by the Common Ground Media Lab, the research and technology arm of Common Ground Research Networks.

This special event will walk you through the CGScholar Event Microsite so you have a rich online experience by learning how to comment and participate online. It will also teach delegates how to update their profile and Presenter Pages in order to add digital media: video, sound, and other files.

Online Talking Circle

Talking Circles are a distinctive feature of our in-person conference, and this year we are also taking them online. Talking Circles offer an opportunity to meet other delegates face-to-face, and engage in extended discussion about the issues and concerns they feel are of utmost importance to that segment of the Research Network. Participation is open, encouraged, and supported.
