University of Ljubljana is the oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia. University with its rich tradition was founded in 1919. It has approximately 41,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and employs approximately 6,000 higher education teachers, researchers, assistants and administrative staff in 23 faculties and three arts academies. The central building, all three academies and faculties are located in the centre. Some of the most recent and modern buildings were constructed on the outskirts of Ljubljana, giving the university and its students a ubiquitous presence in the city.

The University of Granada, founded in 1531, continues a long teaching tradition, the roots of which can be traced back to the madrasahs of the last Nasrid Kingdom. The university is a vibrant presence in the city of Granada, benefiting from the distinctive beauty of its environment and a privileged geographical location due to its proximity to the Sierra Nevada, and the Mediterranean coast, with several major tourist sites, including Motril, Almuñécar and Salobreña nearby.
Over 60,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students study at the university, with another 20,000 students taking additional courses, language courses, summer courses, etc. The university employs 3,650 lecturers and over 2,000 administration, technical and maintenance staff. At present, courses for 75 different qualifications are taught in 28 teaching centers. The courses are taught across 116 departments, and the Postgraduate School offers 68 master's courses, 116 doctorate programs, and 113 additional courses.
The commitment to high-quality research has placed the University of Granada in a prominent position in terms of national rankings. The financing of 346 research groups illustrates this commitment. Through the Spanish Research Program, as well as other national programs and organizations, the university supports 165 research projects, and the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Business has provided financial support to 78 Projects of Excellence.

The Amsterdam Sustainability Institute (ASI) provides an inclusive umbrella for sustainability-related research at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ASI seeks to build bridges among VU researchers and with the wider community to increase our scientific and societal impact. Our motto is: ‘Integrating knowledge for sustainable societal choices’.
ASI actively promotes cooperation between related but traditionally divided disciplinary approaches across VU faculties. It further develops and strengthens relations with societal partners and users of its knowledge in order to deliver timely and relevant research to society as well as to receive feedback and input to its research.
ASI is managed by a Scientific Steering Committee, including research leaders from all participating VU faculties. This Committee is supported by a small team for daily management.

The Fluminense Federal University is one of the four federally funded public universities in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and one of the Brazilian centers of excellence in teaching and research. The university was established by federal law on December 18, 1960. It is the union of five federal colleges and three state colleges. It has about 50,000 undergraduate students, and 12,000 graduate students (2011). It has six campuses in the city of Niterói, on the southeast side of Guanabara Bay, and 12 satellite campuses in towns of the state. There are 68 undergraduate and 208 graduate (Ph.D., Master and Specialization) programs available at UFF in Natural and Social Sciences. The word fluminense in Portuguese, from Latin flumen ("river"), is the native adjective for the state of Rio de Janeiro.
