Themes and Special Focus

Founded in 2010, the Constructed Environment Research Network is brought together by a common shared interest in human configurations of the environment and the interactions among the constructed, social and natural environments. As a Research Network, we are defined by our scope and concerns and motivated to build strategies for action framed by our shared themes and tensions.

The Seventeenth International Conference on The Constructed Environment calls for research addressing the following annual themes and special focus:

  • Theme 1: Spatial Representation as Knowledge Production
  • Theme 2: Media Ecologies of Spatial Knowledge:
  • Theme 3: Planning, Governance, and the Circulation of Evidence
  • Theme 4: Environmental Modelling, Landscape, and Urban Systems
  • Theme 5: Evaluation, Legitimacy, and Impact in Spatial Research

Program

The conference program groups together presentations along similar themes to facilitate knowledge sharing and community building. The first schedule of sessions will be available when we're able to present a complete picture of the conference. We will offer both place-based and online options for viewing and engaging.
