Masataka Fukui

Masataka Fukui is a data scientist with a professional certification acquired from HarvardX in 2020. Additionally, he is a qualified architect, holding an architecture diploma from the University of East London Graduate School of Architecture (UEL) in 2004. He obtained two Masters of Science degrees from the same school, alongside the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) and the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA) at Bartlett, UCL, in 2002 and 2005 respectively. Furthermore, he pursued studies in architecture, urban design, and construction at the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB-UPC).

Since 2005, Masataka has been practicing Computational Architecture, Urban design, engineering, and environmental and energy consulting. He has worked for various WA100 architecture design and engineering companies, as well as ENR-listed general construction companies and consultant firms, on diverse projects worldwide. In these roles, he has served as a senior-level practitioner, architect-engineer, and consultant.

In addition to his consulting work, which is characterized by insightful contributions and strong research habits, Masataka is engaged in diverse R&D activities. These activities encompass art and design, the built environment, sustainability, accessibility, data science, and the social implementation of innovative technology. He collaborates with leading academic and corporate research institutions and consortiums, exchanging knowledge and insights in social and human sciences.
