Each book has its own journey, a journey that can take many paths and follow different timelines. We see our role as curators of your research. We support you through each step over the course of which your book takes on a life its own and eventually finds its place in the world. At the heart of this is the peer-review process that helps shape your work and serves as a measure of its academic integrity.
A potential author submits their proposal (or full manuscript) for review with the internal editorial planning team. We assess the submission for its scholarly merit, originality, relevance to our publishing program, and potential readership.
If your proposal (or full manuscript) is approved through the committee peer review, the project advances to the contract phase. At this point, we will discuss publishing options—including Open Access—and outline the terms in your publishing agreement.
See: Open Access Options
The publishing contract is then finalized in consultation with the author. At this stage, the author also secures any necessary permissions for third-party content—such as images, figures, or republished material in an edited collection. This is also the point at which the author confirms whether the work will be published under an Open Access model.

During production, your manuscript will be typeset to our house style for clear, consistent presentation in print and digital formats; copyedited for grammar, style, and citation consistency; and paired with a professionally designed cover that reflects your book’s content and audience. If an index is required, you may prepare it yourself or have it prepared by our team for a fee, which can be paid directly or deducted from future royalties.
Congratulations—your book is now published! We work closely with the author/s to develop a tailored release, launch, and marketing plan. This plan includes direct email within our Research Network community, social media campaigns, and supplying digital assets to the author to support self-promotion. A sales team distributes the title to bookshops, online retailers, and libraries the world over. In addition, we arrange for book and author events, in-person and online.
We hope this is the beginning of a longer relationship. In this "future" we will talk about the steps for releasing in paperback, possible second editions, and other format opportunities in licensing of intellectual property, including translation, audio, dramatic rights, and others.
