Dr. Malcolm Alan Compitello is Professor of Spanish Head of the Department of Spanish Portuguese. He came to the University of Arizona from Michigan State University where he was Professor of Spanish and Associate Chair of the Department of Romance and Classical Languages. Professor Compitell received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from St. John's University in New York City and his Ph.D. in Hispanic literature with a minor in Comparative Literature from Indiana University. Professor Compitello is the Executive Editor of the Arizona Journal of Hispanic Cultural Studies and serves on the editorial boards of a number of other publication. Professor Compitello has authored and edited three books on contemporary Spanish literature and numerous articles on contemporary literature and Cultural Studies.
