Óscar Alonso-Álvarez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Sciences at the University of Oviedo (Spain), in the Area of Language and Literature Didactics. His teaching career spans multiple contexts, with specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language and English for Specific Purposes at the university level, as well as bilingual education (English and Spanish) in Chicago public schools. His primary research interests are social justice in language education, critical pedagogies, and the integration of global perspectives in English language teaching. His current research lines focus on gender perspectives, diversity, and interculturality in language education, as well as teacher training, and multilingualism in education. He is a member of the DIME research group at the University of Oviedo.
